Business Application Analyst – Application Support

We are searching for a Business Application Analyst – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll be responsible for understanding the business and business requirements in relation to applications, reporting, and processes of our Health Plan. You will be working with the business to clarify requests and interpret needs. Lastly, this position includes significant or complex system configuration, report design, data analysis and issues resolution. Ideally we are looking for a business analyst with strong skills and two to five years of experience. You are going to gather requirements from clients, and help them directly or assign resources that will solve their requests for needs. Experience with SQL, healthcare and/or health insurance, MS Team Foundation Server (TFS), and Agile methodology will be helpful but not required. Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gathers business requirements. Analyzes requirements to develop user stories, process maps, wireframes and mockups, acceptance criteria, and test cases
  • Work with senior analysts and developers to implement solutions
  • Supports business staff with application questions and issues
  • Supports external users with setup and application errors related to business applications
  • Monitors error logs and reports and researches errors resolving issues where possible
  • Evaluates business procedures and problems for process improvement
  • Supports projects, applications installation, and quality assurance
  • Performs business, configuration, and process analysis and identifies improvement

Skills & Requirements
  • 4 years of experience in information systems
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or healthcare administration may substitute for the experience
  • Knowledge of technical and business analysis
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technologies, troubleshooting application issues and errors with SQL Server experience
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry in general and specifically of the health insurance environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of T-SQL and database designs
  • Process mapping
  • Perform troubleshooting and recommend appropriate action
