We are seeking a PFS Manager. In this position, you'll be responsible for managing the total AR for the System. The PFS Manager develops, implements, monitors, and analyzes all functions of the business office how it ties to the Revenue Cycle. This person will monitor and report on key metrics such as cash collections, days outstanding, unbilled, denials, etc., in conjunction with Finance Leadership. This person establishes adequate controls to ensure that the System revenue is billed to payors, government programs, and patients timely and accurately. The PFS Manager maintains effective communication with insurance carriers, vendors, and other internal/external customers to resolve issues that impede cash flow and/or detract from patient satisfaction.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Follow all federal, state, and local billing and HIPAA guidelines
  • Establishes department goals and objectives
  • Manages all aspects of the A/R and directs procedures necessary to keep A/R current
  • Keeps the Vice President and other Senior Management informed on the operation of Patient Financial Services
  • Directs the recruitment of personnel necessary for the success of the department
  • Work closely with all departments of the Revenue Cycle and the organization

Skills & Requirements
  • License/Certification CPAM or CMPA preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or related field, or minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • 5 years progressive experience in hospital, financial institution or related organization to include 4 years of supervisory experience in healthcare business office environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of accounting and business principles
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD coding and hospital billing
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of all aspects of third party reimbursement policies and practices
  • Knowledge of hospital billing and government payment systems
