We are searching for a registered RDMS OB/GYN sonographer in a friendly professional private physician office located in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you'll perform routine and specialized ultrasound exams for interpretation by the Radiologist and OB/Gyn physicians, using specialized equipment. Additionally, you'll be responsible for patient care, appropriate documentation, quality control, quality improvement, maintaining a safe environment, and acting as Charge Sonographer in absence of the Team Leader.

  • Performs high quality basic and comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound imaging exams in accordance with established AIUM and ACOG guidelines and protocols under the supervision of the Radiologist or OB/GYN physicians.
  • Operates ultrasound equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, and documentation of images to record anatomic, pathologic, and physiologic data for interpretation by the radiologist/physician.
  • Exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of the diagnostic exam

  • Successful completion of a formal 2-year training in a school of Ultrasound by the Joint Review committee for Education in the Radiological Sciences (JRCERT) of the American Medical Association
  • Must be registered in Ultrasound through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS); grandfathered employees must be registered in Ultrasound by the ARDMS by 10/1/11
  • A minimum of three years of radiographer/ultrasound experience is preferred
  • Registration in x-ray through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and licensing by the Texas Department of Health/Bureau of Radiation Control as a
  • Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) is preferred
  • Broad knowledge of ultrasound physics and procedures
  • Knowledge of operation of all required equipment, including troubleshooting when necessary
  • Knowledge of operation of automatic processor, copying/digitizing film equipment, R.I.S., PACS related equipment, basic life support and medical terminology
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and positive guest relations
  • Ability to promote positive interdepartmental and intradepartmental communications and relationships
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment
  • Ability to demonstrate (preferably) bilingual skills
