We are searching for an Ultrasound Specialist - someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you'll integrate scientific knowledge; technical skills, patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information, and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. You'll serve as a liaison between patients, radiologist and other members of the support team. In addition, you must remain sensitive to the needs of the patient through good communication, and exceptional patient care skills.

  • Checks room daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow
  • Maintains appropriate inventory as indicated by posted par levels and updates supply lists when items are needed
  • Confirms patient identity with approved identifiers
  • Demonstrating age appropriate care with all patients, appropriately prepares patients for procedures
  • Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure to the patient, family and others
  • Provides information to patients, health care providers, students and the public concerning the role and responsibilities of individuals in the profession
  • Provides a positive experience to students in role as a clinical instructor
  • Working independently performs routine and complex, STAT, urgent, on-call and potentially intraoperative Ultrasound cases, while accurately demonstrating understanding of anatomy and pathology through proper imaging techniques
  • Evaluates patient's records and history to understand risk for implanted devices
  • Follows fall precautions, isolation standards and universal precautions 100% of the time
  • Expert knowledge of information management systems: demonstrates systems functionalities, accurately performs functions independently and serves as a resource to others
  • Documents incidents, variances, unusual circumstances or patient concerns
  • Accurately and independently performs procedures, identifies and resolves issues. Seeks experiences and knowledge in the technical area to gain expertise
  • Leads efforts associate with quality and process improvement
  • Positions self in challenging situations and responds with confidence, professionalism, and accuracy in the face of multiple demands and shifting priorities
  • Coaches and mentors the staff in protocols, procedures, examinations and corrective actions
  • Build rapport and facilitate communication outside of the department
  • Network, coordinate activities, become a sought after contact person within the working group
  • Incorporates HIPAA into all actions to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained
  • Greets all patients, visitors and staff in a professional, courteous and respectful manner

  • Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) awarded by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography

      • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Fetal Echocardiography (RDMS-FE)
      • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Neurosonology (RDMS-NE)
      • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics and Gynecology (RDMS-OB/GYN)
      • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Pediatric Echocardiography (RDMS-PE)
