In case you aren’t aware, our Kinetix team lives for music of all kinds– ’80s, ’90s, scatting, metal, doo-wop, we love it all (except for Nickelback, take the cheesy angst elsewhere). It only felt natural to create a new blog series that helps us express our different talent industry challenges in a creative and constructive manner.

Introducing: The Talent Mixtapes

Each month we will highlight a different talent acquisition or HR woe through the power of song (you can sing along if you like). This month we are kicking it off with songs from recruiters to all-star candidates.

Without further ado, these are the tunes that get us through when connections are less than enthused to hear about our open opportunities:

Looking to use benefits and salary to grab the attention of the best candidates in your network? Go into your negotiations with this tune in mind.

We all want to ask the great ghosts of talent acquisitions past, “do you think about me still? Do ya, do ya?”

We sure like to think so, and if they are still having career conversations with us, we ask this next question:

Ah, the ballad of the yes-man candidate who has too many recruiters on the hook, just remember these words: “Please don’t believe her, she says that for anyone.”

Some crazy awesome connections who got what you need just never blossom into placements, despite our efforts to earn their consideration. It’s ok, we can always use more “friends.”

All I want for Christmas is you – Mariah Carey 

We couldn’t close out this playlist so close to the 25th without the queen of Christmas giving us all of the festive words we wish we could share with the best talent in our networks.
